The Consumer Protection Authority in cooperation with Oman Trade Corporation launched a recall campaign for 107 Cadillac SRX models from 2010 to 2016 based on the chassis numbers from 3GYFN9E30CS500234 to 3GYFNFEYXAS647457.

The recall comes due to not following the correct method for tightening the nut of the steering column balance link (hinge link) which leads to the vehicle swaying when driving on highways or it may allow the entry of water and other materials. This causes rust in the balancing gears, erosion; looseness of the gears and in rare cases with the continuation of the steering may separate the articulating joint from the balance shaft. Accordingly, the agency will replace the stabilizing articulated link with a design that protects the balance arm gears.

These recalls confirm the efforts made by the authority in the field of traffic safety in cooperation with agencies working in the field in line with its continuous keenness to conduct continuous reviews of all products offered in the Sultanate’s markets in order to provide the necessary protection for consumers in all fields
