The Consumer Protection Authority in cooperation with the International Automotive Accreditation Company has launched a recall of 1,893 Kia Sportage SL vehicles affected by the production date from May 15, 2013 to November 17, 2015 based on chassis numbers from (KNAPC8120E7509442) to (KNAPC8125G7873908).

This recall comes due to the possibility of a fire due to a malfunction in the electrical junction box on the part of the hydraulic electronic control unit (HECU) while the vehicle is driving or after it stops which leads to the appearance of a warning signal for the anti-lock brake system (ABS) while driving. Accordingly, the company will check, repair and replace the junction box and the top cover of the trunk at no cost to the vehicle owner.

These recalls confirm the efforts made by the authority in the field of traffic safety in cooperation with car agencies to preserve the lives and safety of consumers and provide them with the necessary protection and in line with its continuous keenness to conduct continuous reviews of all products offered in the Sultanate’s markets.
