The Consumer Protection Authority, in cooperation with Dhofar Automotive Company, launched a recall campaign for 1768 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles model-year 2011 to 2013.

The recall came for 774 Dodge Durango (WD) vehicles model-year (2011 - 2013) according to chassis numbers from (1C4RDHAG0CC317978) to (1D4SE5GTXBC746161), and 994 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WD) model-years 2011 - 2013 according to chassis numbers from (1CRJFAG0CC1132) to (1J4R6GTXBC663653) for the possibility that the electric relay of the fuel pump that was installed on the aforementioned vehicles may have been exposed to silicone contamination during the installation, which may cause the relay to stop working, and cause a state of stall, or stopping the engine while driving, which could lead to an accident without warning. Accordingly, the company will inspect the fuel pump's electrical relay and replace it with the wiring harness connector and install it on an arc near the power transmission control unit if there is no external electrical relay then the power transmission control unit must be modified according to the external electrical relay.

These recalls confirm the efforts made by the authority in the field of traffic safety in cooperation with car dealers, to preserve the lives and safety of consumers, provide them with the necessary protection, and in line with its continuous keenness to conduct continuous reviews of all products offered in the Sultanate’s markets.
